"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work." ~ 2 Corinthians 8-9

Do you struggle with sharing the Gospel?

If so this post is for you!

When God first called me to evangelism I literally broke into a cold sweat and prayed that He was joking. True story!

I said, "Lord, I know you're always right, and I know that you don't make mistakes...but I am REALLY not seeing where you are going with this. Are you sure about this?"

Sis, Can you relate?

Do you also feel overwhelmed talking to people about Jesus?

If that's you then the story of what God did in my life earlier this month and the three things I learned in the process will help you!

At the beginning of this month, the Lord sent me out on a mission.

He placed it on my heart to take a day to "Simply Love" people by buying them lunch at a taco truck in the ghetto.

There were a series of divine appointments and events that led up to me "knowing" that He was calling me to this specific task but let me tell ya, I WAS SCARED!

Even if I was just there to bless people and to be light I was nervous about going to that part of town by myself.

So, I prayed and ask God to send me a partner for this mission.

A couple of months went by and I still hadn't met anyone with whom to do this mission.

In fact, the only thing that changed as I continued to pray was a deeper conviction from the Holy Spirit to simply GO and to TRUST Him.

After a few months of praying, and no obvious signs of anyone to join me, I finally decided to go for it with or without a friend!

I listened to the Lord's instructions and I spent a day simply loving people in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.

What unfolded that day was beyond anything I could've imagined!

It was boiling hot outside and I got a wicked sunburn but it was truly one of the best days of my life because God's presence was SO TANGIBLE!

Here are the THREE things I learned from that experience.

I pray that they help you to step out share the life-saving news of the Gospel too!

FIRST, meet people where they are with LOVE (John 15:17).

I am discovering that people only care what you know when they know how MUCH YOU CARE.

It was incredible to watch JOY and gratitude wash over people's faces when they realized their lunch was an unexpected free gift!

In fact, doing what the Lord asked me to do and blessing them by buying their food is the door the Holy Spirit used to share with them the FREE GIFT of SALVATION that He is offering them.

Before leaving my house that morning, I prayed and asked the Lord to lead in every aspect of the day.

In all honesty, my flesh didn't feel particularly loving, I didn't have a ton of courage or boldness of my own but I was WHOLEHEARTEDLY depending on JESUS because without Him it'd be totally lost!

Fortunately, His presence flooded that place and it was His LOVE that poured over the people and opened their ears and hearts to hear the GOSPEL!

SECONDLY, trust God to give you everything you need for the good works to which He calls you (2 Corin. 8-9).

Y'all, I was scared out of my mind to go to that part of town alone. However, I KNEW God was asking me to go and I knew He was asking me to trust Him.

SO, I did.

He didn't give me a partner ahead of time but the moment I walked up to the taco truck, the first customer I bought lunch for and talked to about Jesus just "happened" to be a man who is also on FIRE for JESUS!

I couldn't believe it! God had answered my prayers and had given me a partner AT THE TACO TRUCK!

I didn't know it before meeting Arnell, but God was asking me to walk by faith and not by sight in order to meet the person who'd be there to help me!

Arnell's presence and the conversations we had about Jesus gave me the extra boost of faith I needed for what came next!

As people started pouring into line at the taco truck, I leaned all my weight on the Lord and that's when He answered my cry and poured out His Holy Spirit which gave me incredible boldness, courage, and most of all LOVE.

As I called upon Him and relied on Him for everything I needed, the Holy Spirit LIT THAT PLACE ON FIRE!

Before I knew it, the Lord had me boldly proclaimming the Gospel outside a taco truck in the middle of the ghetto!

Say, WHAT!?!

I've never had the courage to do anything remotely like that in my entire life!

This day however, the day I relied solely on the Lord, He was the one who came and opened the ears and the hearts of the people and He is the one who gave me the power to share the GOOD NEWS with love and authority.

There were 25 people surrounding the truck at any given time and in the first group SEVEN people heard the Gospel for the very first time!

PRAISE THE LORD!!

3. LASTLY, keep it simple and relatable.

Let others know that you're not perfect either and tell them what Jesus has done in your life because the Bible says that there's power in our testimony!

Remember, the Gospel is super simple!

You can break it down like this.

"No one is perfect (except Jesus). We've all made mistakes and the Bible says that we all fall short of the glory of God. That means that when we die in our sins, we face His judgment. However, the good news is that if we trust alone in Jesus, He cleanses us from our sins and grants us eternal life because He took the punishment we deserve by dying for us on the cross. Why did He die for us? Because HE LOVES US! When we turn from our sins and trust alone in Him, He gives us His Holy Spirit and we become a new creation in Christ (2 Corin. 5:17) living a life filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Self Control."

See. Simple!

Sis, one of the biggest things God reminded me of this day was that His message really IS GOOD NEWS.

SO there's no reason to be afraid of sharing it!

Our T.V. screens are filled with BAD NEWS 24 hours a day.

People are HUNGRY for the real JESUS and for the HOPE that only He can offer.

Believe it or not, most people WANT to hear the GOOD NEWS God has for them, especially when you meet them where they are with LOVE.

God's counting on us to fulfill the great commission and when we rely solely on HIm, His Spirit will help us do it!

With Love,

Kristin
